MISSION AND PURPOSE
Our Mission: Knowledge Quest Academy will provide a caring, attentive environment that is conducive to learning. We will teach students to continually assess their strengths and build on their successes. Our goal is to build a balance between Character, Body and Mind.

Knowledge Quest Academy has highly trained and experienced leadership staff that assists in all aspects of the program operation. Our leaders understand the nature of an at-risk youth and rely on resident experts to continuously assess their learning environment to provide effective instructional delivery.
CLIMATE AND CULTURE
The program climate and culture concept at Knowledge Quest Academy exemplifies a balanced and restorative approach. Students are provided a positive learning environment where positive behavior is reinforced through enhanced behavioral management teaching methods. Further, students are taught accountability methods, competency, and individual thinking. These methods encourage students to connect with the community and facilitate citizenry and productivity.
The staff at Knowledge Quest Academy are highly trained and specialized in the areas in which they teach. Our unique customized approach gives us an advantage as we continuously support the changing environments. As specialized professionals in their respective areas they are continuously improving their knowledge and implementing these changes into their curriculum and aligning the changes to benefit the diverse learning needs of at-risk youth. Our staff receives over 60hrs of specialized training before entering a classroom.
The curriculum and instruction for all certificate programs offered to at-risk youth are customized to fit the diverse needs of each individual. The Alternative Education Program provides individualized plans that incorporate academic, behavioral, life skills, community involvement, and transitional goals. These aspects are customized based on the individuals assessed needs and implemented into the curriculum.
As part of our entry and intake process, all students are subjected to a pre-assessment in their professional development course. This allows for benchmark settings, in addition, the professional development course also allows the mentor to conduct an entry interview and begin the Individual Learning Plan process. Students are re-assessed after completion of each course and screened for gains or losses. The results will determine the instructor’s next course of action.
TRANSITIONAL PLANNING AND
Knowledge Quest Academy has developed various resources that support the student’s transition from the program. Based on the exemplary practice 7.0, KQA trains its staff to appropriately assess the student for the transitional setting that best supports their initiatives. The systematic approach takes into consideration grades, behavior, ILP goals, and attained skills. Students are also coached to prepare for their transitional interview.
Knowledge Quest Academy actively encourages the involvement of parents/ guardians in all aspects of the program. It is imperative that at-risk youth have the support from parents/guardians throughout the assessment, program, and transitional phases of the students’ educational journey. Parents are also engaged through surveys and continuous correspondence. Parents also receive a progress report every 3 weeks.
Knowledge Quest Academy promotes partnerships between students, staff, parents, community, and local employers. The collaboration of all stakeholders ensures the overall success of the individual throughout their pre-assessment, program duration, post-assessment, and transitional phases.
Fully developed Quality Management System that is data driven and includes ongoing, semi-annual team-based Quality Assurance reviews of all areas of school operation (to ensure management effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability). These quality reviews are the foundation for building processes that are replicable and meet school district and regulatory requirements.
